Has anyone used Remax for selling their house or to buy through. I've heard they are number 1 in America and have come over to the UK. One has just opened in my area and I wanted some information on them.

A relative of mine used them and was very disappointed. They promised much and delivered little and they moved to a well established local agent as soon as the contract was up.
Of course the service will vary from office to office but the best way to choose an agent is to look round your area to see who has got the sold stickers on the boards.0 -
I believe Re-Max started in 1973 in the USA and is worldwide now with over 100,000 associates. It is a 'franchise' operation.
For something in excess 0f £50,000 ( I believe currently around £100,000, depending on area) they sell you a franchise - give you some training and let you loose whilst providing back-up.
Obviously some negotiators will be very good. But, I guess some franchisee's will just have assumed that being an EA is a quick path to unlimited gold and perhaps not have too much experience and hoping/looking for a quick buck?
Every office will be different in their skills and attitudes etc. Why not call into your local office as a potential buyer and see what happens.
