if you phone their number you are on hold for ever

on the rare occasion you get your call answered you are then put on hold and then cut off or on hold for ages and left so that you end up hanging up

so why am I bothered?

I bought a dyson vacuum online from them over wa month ago and within days decided to not bother with the extended warranty so rang and and cancelled


a month later and several phone calls I am still not in receipt of my refund and get given excuses if I manage to get through

my credit card company say I am not covered so cannot do a charge back

I am sending a strongly worded fax today if I can get the pc to work!

Did you get a reply to your fax?

I considered buying from this company in the past as they come high in the price comparison sites searches, and l'm interested in seeing what the after service is like.

no response

and several phoen calls later still no refund although today O wall allowed to speak with a call centre manager (they refused to let me speak to accounts dept)

each week I rang, on hold, endlessly waiting, intermittent recorded voice blah blah your call is important to us

then told each week ah yes its been processed today, yesterday whenever, its on its way, then another excuse for why it wasn;t sent when they said


so today, I ended up speaking to this fortunately polite call centre manager who did send an email as she said she would to confirm payment was on its way

(and woo hoo now I have a name and a direct dial phone number) - was refused this

I requested compensation for phone calls (this was declined) and pointed out how they had broken the law by not refunding within 30 days and that if I did not receive within 7 days I would pursue refund with costs as I had taken legal advice

hmm, not good then. U should publish the dd and name for others

Whats this law for the 30 day refund? l don't think l've heard of that one.

Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000


"If the consumer exercises the right to cancel it must make the goods available for collection (they are under no obligation to return them) and a full refund must be provided within 30 days of cancellation"
