I have a laptop that my nephew has passworded and I cannot get into it and he doesnt know what he has done (or so he says) I have created a password reset disk on another machine but it says "An error occured while the wizard was attempting to set the password for this user account". I cant reinstall everything I have really important files on here. Please can anyone help me. Is there a free way of bypassing the password?

    Download and put it on either a CD or a Floppy and follow the instructions..

    It claimed to have cleared the password but still hadnt

    In dos it claims its reset it but still displays password thing on logon

    Just hit enter.

    It removes the password that's been set so you can log in without it and then reset it to what you want.
