Laptop bios password Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook s series

I've returned from my hoildays and my ex has set up a laptop bios password on my Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook laptop pc, it basically means that I have to put a password in to use the bloody thing.

This basically makes my laptop useless. The laptop now is ou of warrenty and wondered if there was anyway I can remove this password?

Will I have to chuck the laptop away as it useless now?

If you feel confident opening up the laptop and removing the cmos battery (small round battery) then putting it back in then that should reset the bios to its default setting.

Thanks I spoke to fujitsu customer services this morning and they said that it would have to be sent back to the factory to get reset, and cost £270. Is this the same procedure as in the link that they are going to do?
