Just to warn others out there of this scam that is operating. I received a very official looking letter from "the Domain Registry of America",
Do not be deceived by any domain expiration notices you receive in the post. And please do NOT pay them. If in doubt check with your provider.

Thanks for the reminder. I've received these letters in the past too, seems they get our details from the whois database. You should always report these to your domain host too.0

They have been doing this kind of scam for a long time now - I use to work for an ISP - and use to get loads of these kind of letters everyday!
Best thing to do, is to contact the people you have registered the domain with, explaining you have been contacted by DRoA - they take these kind of scams very seriously.0 -
I had some of these. They seemed to come from an industrial unit in Cambridge. I tried to find out more about them but there's not much info available, (which usually triggers my 'Fishy Company detector') They are very convincing and I'm sure many people will have been confused / conned by them. Best to do what I did, - I filed them in the 'round file' under the desk.Light blue touchpaper and stand well back !0
