sorry paul, meant to quote not thank you.

    anyway,

i would say 600 pcm very unrealistic for 2 beds within m25. tube costs to zone 6 are horrendous, but employers here usually give you a 12 month interest free loan to cover it.

do you really need 2 beds. a 1 bed flat would lower your costs, and guests can have a sofa bed, or study could be a desk in the living room.

i have places in west london, zones 2 and 3. my zone 2, 2 beds with garden/patio are between 250-350 per week excl all bills, and 2 beds with garden, patio and parking in zone 3 are 240-270 per week. [ these are all within 5 mins of a good tube station] and no need to pay congestion charges..................... :T

even studio flats in zone 2 go for about 130 per week, and could not fit 2 people - comfortably.

computer work in london dead easy to find, as long as you are any good at your job ;)

where will your girlfriend's work be....would be easier to suggest possible areas to search in.

re where to find flats, i always do loot. pick up the copy as early as poss and phone early too. also can look at loot online. evening standard on wed and thurs too. get the first edition as well. places go by the second [if they are any good] avoid the big agencies, unless you want to pay them lots and lots of fees, esp the ones with the green minis [am i allowed to name them] and thousands of pounds of designer furniture in the office/showroom. but do nip in to register and get free coffee every time :rotfl:
