Accidental Buildings/Contents

Can anyone give me some examples of what accidental buildings/contents covers, as opposed to non accidental and is it worth paying the extra for either.

Thanks

Your normal coverage provides you cover against certain perils- fire, theft, storm, flood etc.

Accidental damage would include things like dropping TV's, spilling paint on things, putting a whole through a pipe etc.

Note however that most policies will include AD to electrical equipment and glass as standard. I can't recomend it enough. At a rough guess 50% of our claims are for AD of some description and we are forced to pay so many claims by the FOS under AD it is untrue!
