Pension Credit

My wife is 65 and on DLA. I am 55 and planning to stop work in 3 months time to become her full time carer.
We have applied for pension credit and I know that the application is being processed because I have received all the original documents back which I sent with the application.
But no covering letter and no acknowledgement!
I know that DLA applications have a target of around 12 weeks to process but does anyone know what the score is with Pension Credit?
I have declared my current income but will have nothing coming in personally once I finish work so PC is crucial
