I'd go £157k and see what she says.
    She can only say no.
  • I asked Chris (OH) on this one 'cos he's the negotiator in our house and he said he would offer to meet them half way but if they stuck at £152k he would take it considering all the circumstances. Ax
    Don't believe everything you think.

Blessed are the cracked...for they are the ones who let in the light. A x
  • Thanks fc123

My gut feeling is to meet her halfway.

I know this sounds pretty unbelievable but my boss knows a self made property entrepreneur who makes regular appearances on TV money programmes. Even more unbelievably he's got a meeting with him first thing tomorrow! I thought I would corner him and bend his ear to see what he thinks.

I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow. Wish me luck!

    Good luck

    I think you're right.

I'm trying to stay emotionally detached from the flat. It's hard though. I had to really stretch to buy it and it's been my little nest for the last six years. I'm very proud of it but I feel like a mother having to let her child go! Ha ha!

  • I'm one of 12 flats in a block at the end of a cul de sac. All the flats are the same size/layout.

Last few ones to sell were:-
    Dec 07 £160k
    Nov 07 £155.5k
    Jun 07 £155k

I'd tear thier arm off, and try to rush the deal through before they change thier minds !!

In a rising market you can afford to wait for a better price, but this is a falling market, if you wait it could turn out to be a 20k or 25k hit.

Also as another poster pointed out if you can get the same % discount on the next bigger place you buy, you'll probably be better off pound notes wise.

If those are the most recent prices, I'd take £152k and exchange ASAP before she comes to her senses!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

i'd take the 152K. LAst summer property prices were at their peak and similer homes in your block were selling for 155k. In this falling market you are offered 3k less IMO take it and run. I doubt you will get a better offer
