Studios are great. I am in one.
You get to sit around in your pants and nobody can ever know.
Unless you post it on an internet forum or something stupid like that.
I estimate this is saving me £150/month over choosing a 1-bed place (cheaper rent, less CT, less heating).0 -
Sorry, I should have clarified. We verbally agreed the phone, internet, and television had nothing to do with me. I can sort of see some of her points, but think some measures should be taken to reduce the bills, if only slightly.
Then don't pay for the items you agreed have nothing to do with you.
If you know what those measures then suggest them or be more proactive and do them i.e. go around fitting energy efficient light bulbs.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

You haven't factored in what you save on clothes either.

That is a very valid point.southernscouser wrote: »You haven't factored in what you save on clothes either.
Home alone I wear all the comfy/baggy stuff. Nobody sees it, so it doesn't matter that I alternate a few pairs of cheap and holey leggings and some baggy T shirts most of the time.
This means I rarely have to do any washing.
If you're wearing good/decent stuff in the presence of somebody else you probably wash it after it's been worn to watch TV twice. Alone it doesn't matter that you had it on all week ...
So you're not only not wearing stuff out, but you're saving on water, washing powder and electricity. A couple of pairs of leggings and a couple of T shirts chucked in with the weekly wash of a quilt cover/pillowcase and a towel and it's done.0
