brookeslay - absolutely no thermometer, we were only about 12 and had the kitchen like a bombsite so no chance of testing the temp :D thanks for the tip.

I've put a few of my early scrapbook pages on my blogif anyone is interested to look. They are a bit basic, but I still quite like them

jamtart - love the scrapbook pages - gives me a bit of an idea on how to do my photo albums when christmas is out of the way. They're all such a jumble. Can't wait now to get them started though it'll be a mammoth task......there's so many.........lol

Boo. I made a batch of test (thank goodness) fudge last night, but it hasn't set. I'm assuming that I didn't boil it for long enough, even though it seemed to do the soft ball test okay.

Anybody have a better explanation please?

    TIA

I'm sorry can't help with any advice. I've bought my bits to make fudge for Xmas but haven't made it before either. I haven't got a sugar thermometer but was wondering if I should to make sure I get the mixture to the right temperature. I tried to make turkish delight a few weeks ago (without a thermometer) and it was a blooming disaster  Think I'm going to get a thermometer for the fudge ;) Thanks for the link Brookeslay :D
