  • Have you tried Dell? Knock off the 3 year warranty and you should get a decent cheap one, ordered a similar spec one for a friend but 19" and with the warranty for about £650.
2p off is still 2p off!
  • Thanks for the reply.

Yes looked at Delll, but they incorporate inbuilt graphics cards, which Im not too keen on. Also coming up a bit more expensive.

Does anyone have any other suggestions, I need to get it soon !

    Thanks
  • Compare here.

They use v.good quality componets and their prices are competitive.

    Mesh make excellent PC's.
This one is over your budget but, you can re-configure it to suit.

  • I can recommend HPMarketplace on ebay.

PCs tend to sell for about 60% of thier 'normal' retail price.

You would have to buy a separate screen though. Budget on £150 for a 17 inch and £190 for a 19 inch.

Try clicking "Customise and Buy" on a model similar to what you need - you should be able to bring the price down by tweaking a few items (smaller HDD, shorter warranty for example (the warranty may knock £150 off straight way - it did for me)), and you should also be able to add a graphics card.

Dell may be a bit more expensive but they do very well in customer satisfaction surveys - ie. the computers usually work, and when they don't the support is better than most.

I have just ordered a Dell laptop BTW.
