Viewing iPod Photos

I have loaded some photos to my ipod which I can scroll through when they are thumbnail size, however when I select the photos by pressing play and to view them full size i get a blank screen.
Should I be doing soemthing else to view them please.

Thanks Lee634, I have managed to load the photos i want to see, however my problem lies in viewing the actual photos on the screen of my iPod Nano.
When I select the first photo from the thumbnail and then press the centre button to view the photo, all I get is a dark screen. I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure!0
