Stealing Company Identities

I've just read an article in our local press that those in business may be interested in.

We all know the risk of someone stealing your personal identity, that's why a lot of us now shread everything. But now there's a new crime where businesses run up enormous debts after their supplier credit accounts are highjacked. This scam is also known as the "287" scam which relates to an official form used in the process.

They forge documents at Companies House and obtain goods and services illegally. There are some safeguards now but I thought you'd still like to know about this.

The following link takes you to the article if you want to know more and no, I have no connection to any parties concerned with the story or the media it comes from.
