in Credit cards
In July 02 my bank, HSBC phoned me to ask if Id like to apply for a credit card as I was now elgible.
During the phonecall where the guy was taking details I told him that I was still in Full time education but was trying to start up a business at the same time. My education didnt finish until July 2004.
As he was asking the questions and I was telling him the answers, he kept saying ' we'll have to put this' and 'we'll have to put that' instead of exactly what I was telling him.
Anyways, I got myself into £9500 debt with the card which I now pay by arrangement with a Debt Collection Agency and have been doing for about 12 months.
Ive just been looking back through all of my statements that I have and I was paying PPI right the way through for 4 years - the life of the account. I havent claimed on it because I didnt think that I could...the business never really got off the ground so I didnt have any accounts etc as I only had the time to give it a couple of hours per week. I dont remember PPI ever being mentioned to me and assumed it was compulsory.
Ive just called HSBC to say that I think Ive been mis-sold and he said he'd log a complaint and Id hear from them within 5 working days with the outcome of their investigation. He didnt ask for any details other than my account number/name etc.
Do you think it sounds like Ive been mis-sold?
