Pay off credit card or transfer balance??

Hello.

I have a Halifax One Card - 0% on Purchases which comes to an end next month. There is a balance of c£1500 on this card.

I have just won some money on game show and was wondering what is the best thing to do. I will need about £1500-2000 in a few months to spend on carpets/furniture for my house. So really my question is - is it easier to obtain a card with 0% purchases, or is it easier to get a 0% balance transfer?? or does it make no difference? My credit rating is ok, and have no other debts apart from mortgage and student loan.

If an Bal.Trans. card is easily obtainable, I'm happy to transfer the debt onto it and use my winnings to pay for my purchases later on in the year. What I do not want to do is pay off this card, but find that I cannot obtain a 0% purchaes card in september.

Does anyone know which is more easily obtainable 0% purchases or balance transfer?

Thanks!
