Help egg card default??
Comments
-
Ok I am confused, I called egg to pay my monthly payment I was told that there is default under my name!!!! Can they register default after one missed payment? In my credit file only May is marked as missing 1 payment, and I paid this month now. Since they terminated my account and not getting interest off me, would they just start marking each month as default from now on?? Until they get their money?? Is it better to pay off that amount in full even though it is 1k !! but then can they mark it as default after?? I am so confused someone help me please.
Nothing has changed since the last time you called them.
In your first post you mentioned that they haven't received a payment since April. That's potentially 2 or 3 missed payments depending upon when your payment date is.
Presumably you spoke to a regular customer services agent on the main 0845 number? What they mean when they say the account has a default status is that on their own internal system it shows as a 'D' status.
This means that 2 or more payments have been missed and the call must be passed over to the collections team for them to take payment and discuss the running of the account etc. The card most likely had exactly the same status last time you called.
All you need to do is make the minimum payment and the 'D' status will be removed once that payment clears. Just because it shows as a default internally doesn't mean that's definately what it will show with the credit ref agencies.0 -

It sounds as though you aren't getting accurate answers by telephone, since they do not agree with what the credit checks show. It may be the collections people trying to "persuade" you to pay by not being accurate. Just make the payments for a few months and see what the credit checks show then.0
