Which uses more electricity?
Hi
My mrs and I have been having this arguement since we started living together, which uses more electricity, switching on the electric immersion or boiling the kettle?
The water usage would be for say 7 or 8 litres of hot water for doing the dishes and giving the baby a bath.
I maintain boiling the kettle four of five times.
She maintains switching in the immersion for an 45 mins to an hour?
Which one is best?
Cheers

It depends on the wattage of your kettle but for convenience, putting the immersion on for 20 minutes would normally consume one kWh of electricity i.e. one unit costing around 10p. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
