bank savings and investment query

Hi everyone,
I've read the info on this site about protection limits for bank savings and investments and understand that these are governed by two different rules. I have savings (bank savings and cash ISA) and investments (stocks and shares) all with one bank. The total invested in savings is under £35k and the total invested in shares is under £30k, but collectively they are over £40k. Am I still fully protected if the bank goes bust because my pots of money are spread between the two independent types?
Any clarification would be good...thanks
