I rang Argos CS on two occasions recently and neither operator seemed willing to put forth such an effort on my behalf ... good idea though
Received an emailed response back from Argos CS:
"I am sorry that you are unable to purchase this item in your local store. I have looked in to this for you and can confirm that this is a clearance line and stock is very limited. I am sorry but we can not transfer stock from store to store."Used my MB profits to trade London for Cyprus ...0 -

This is because it is too costly to transfer stock between stores.
Have you tried Sony's website, to see if they sell spare parts?
