Hey guys,
I have a presentation to do this week and I enjoy using powerpoint 2007 to do them. All I have is my memory stick, and the laptop which the presentations will be done on is crappy and I hear it has a very old version of powerpoint. If I was to use compatibility mode, a lot of the nice effects I use won't be able to be seen (as I have unfortunately experienced in the past).
So, is there any way that I can make a powerpoint 2007 presentation (even if it's in compatibility mode) that will run off my memory stick by itself without the need for having an up-to-date version of powerpoint on the laptop being used to present?
(For example, is there a powerpoint 2007 viewer that doesn't need installing?)
thanks for your help.

Hi Kamran,
I can't answer your question I'm afraid, but would suggest you maybe join the PC Pro web site and ask on there where there are plenty of knowledgeable people.
Good luck.

Powerpoint used to have a "Pack and Go" option for this situation, but not in 2007.
This page explains how to get the presentation together with the viewer onto a CD so you can run it on a PC without PP2007Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
it seems to have worked perfecty, great link, thanks very much!0

So just a summary for those who also are in the same boat.
Poperpoint 2007 - go to "publish" and then choose for CD. it'll then give you the option to save it to a file, which will have everything you need for any computer to run your nice presentation, regardless of however old it is (or even if it doesnt have PP installed) =D0 -
Once you have finished it Save it as a PowerPoint show.
You can then run it anywhere.0 -

I guess the MSE techie forum posters aren't good enough then."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

No, no, no, no, no super.
That was a "just in case no one knows" suggestion, though I did of course just KNOW that you'd all get it sorted out here....:p
Thanks for all the info everyone, it's certainly come in handy for me......and saved me going to PC Pro web site!!!!!!

Another option is portable OpenOffice which allows you to run the whole package, without installation on the main computer, from a USB drive.

Unfortunately it doesn't yet (for 2007 microsoft files)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
