A complete stranger by the sounds of it! :o

Maybe Andy is proposing that everybody who wishes to use the scheme can have a free CRB check?

Do you know thats exactly what I thought.

May I be as bold to say, given the choice, I would rather pollute the environment with the C02 my M reg Astra 1.4 emits than share a lift with 'Baz' the fat, gravy stained bisexual trucker who I found out was 'going my way' after a brief chat with him on the internet.

Andy....do you know what goes on in lay-bys?

The last thing the environment needs is tens of thousands more acres covered with tarmac. Especially in areas currently at risk from flooding; this will just exacerbate the problems.

You could always use an existing scheme from the commencement of your journey like http://www.nationalcarshare.co.uk/

Right then calm down everybody, let me explain what it says in the petition.

I am asking for safe and secure parking areas near major junctions to help the thousands of people like myself, who everyday travel up and down this land. There's nowhere to park officially,so we park in hotels, residential streets, and "chance it" on a grass verge by the side of the road. Then we jump in with our mates/colleagues NOT Smelly Strangers!and continue on our way, saving money, the environment, and traffic.Well trying too!

I am NOT trying to force anyone to car share, I just want to try and help those already doing it, and those who would like too.

I don't want to bulldoze the countryside to do this. Half an acre at each junction or every other, would do it. A few CCTV cams, ask the Police to keep an eye on it, Bobs your uncle.

And yes it's going to cost money, but nobody can deny the benifits, so yes it has to be the Govt who pays (private companies would charge too much and nobody would use it,ie motorway services).Bad idea? I don't think so!

So it is nothing to do with the environment, it is about saving you money?

    I'll say it again ...

Car sharing goes on in Birmingham, so what people do is arrange to carshare, one person will say drive to another's house and maybe leave their car on their drive and go to work in the other sharer's car especially if that sharer is picking up others. It is easy.

Anyway, what's wrong with the bus? They're relatively cheap, clean, use bus lanes and there's no parking involved.
