something sweet after a meal

does anyone else crave sweet and sugary junk after a meal?

It doesnt matter what I eat, I NEED it after proper food!!

todays junk food includes....

a curly wurly
a small kids dairy milk bar
a pack of starburst
8 chunks of chocolate

how bad is that!!!! aaarrrgggghhhhhhhh!!!!!

I know people cant give any medical advice here but can anyone suggest anything?

I need to stop, I know its so bad for me!

How about some sesame halva, or a muesli bar?

If you like apples, get a fresh green apple, slice it, and dip it into 50/50 tahini and honey. Delicious!

I think apples help regulate blood sugar, and at least you would be getting some fruit with your sweetness!

I know EXACTLY how you feel :D I don't buy sweets because of this reason, however I was craving chocolate so bad the other day, I nearly went out to buy some - but I resisted.

What I find really helps is honey on wholemeal bread. Sweet enough to take the craving away and plus I don't feel so guilty.

sugar helps in the digestion process!. and since history it has always been in practice to have 'pudding' after savoury!
what about greek yogurt topped with jam or honey or chocolate spread.
may be a milky dessert like rice pudding or creme caramel or something with custard
fruits are always good. or bit of icecream!
remember some cheese or brushing teeth not within 20-30 of eating though or you'll ruin the enamel on your teeth.
    HTH!

Yes sometimes I HAVE to have something sweet after a meal whether its lunch or dinner. Normally one sqaure of choc or a sugar free jelly portion is enough - and it doesn't happen all the time. WEIRD!

Oh thank goodness I'm not alone!

A meal is not complete without something sweet to finish it off.
I would probably go for a nice juicy sweet apple followed by just a little piece of choc or cake ( and hope I can stop there  ).

Says me who's just eaten a Tesco bakery chocolate brownie (mmmm! chocolate - I could still eat some more!!)

I can't eat yoghurt, for some unknown reason it causes a nasty reaction - shame as I love it and it really can work to take off that sweet tooth moment!

Try putting a curly wurly in the fridge. It takes ages to eat and seems to satisfy the craving for much longer

I've pretty much lost my sweet tooth since I've been doing Slimming World but I still get the urge. Luckily these days I can stop at one square!
