Plumbing help, more specifically Grohe power shower

Hi all,
wonder if someone out there can help me save money.
I moved into a house last year which has a grohe 3000 power shower fitted, this worked fine for first few months then the shower was constantly cold. I adjusted the thermostat cartridge in the shower mixer however it has went to the other extreme.
The cartrige looks like this
and costs £70 upwards, I have tried in vain to re-adjust it however the water is constantly hot, (the cartridge has a sort of plunger/piston part inside, I have even tried pushing this in as far as it will go to see if there is a change in temparature).
I want to exhaust all possibilities before going ahead and buying a new part.
Hopefully someone reading this can provide me with some advise on troubleshooting this.
Thanks.

I have, in terms of practical advise they weren't very good, ie. could not tell me what the problem could be. just suggested buying a thermo cartrige, at a higher cost than what i found on the internet.
cheers though0 -
I've found the Shower Doctor technical forum to be helpful. They have sections for each brand including Grohe. Their advice sorted out our shower problem but cost our landlord a fortune as the problem was traced to our stopcock which was stuck half on/half off reducing our pressure. Whole thing had to be replaced!
There seem to be plenty of posts to read through on your shower or you can post your own question.0 -

You could also phone Grohe. Their customer service is excellent. They send out spare parts to me for nothing even though my shower is 9 years old.0

I contacted Grohe last week, and they've agreed to send out the part which i need free of charge. (I contacted them a few months ago with the same problem and the person I spoke to was a bit jobsworthy and wouldn't send anything out)
Hopefully when the part arrives I'll have a warm shower:j0
