Back in December last I sold my house. I paid off the balance on my Capital One card about £1,100. At the same time the account was closed. I have had since several letters from Cap One stating I owed £70 odd because of late payment etc. I have tried to ring them and discuss the matter but the chap on the other end spoke very poor English and I couldnt understand him.I wrote to them three times but to no avail. I have since checked my credit file to find out they have made an entry indicating I have missed three payments. The very next day I had a letter from a company called DEBITAS asking for payment for Cap One. I gave them short shrift telling them the story, they then said the account HAD been closed. How can I get the credit file back in order and the entries deleted if they wont aclnowledge me?. Sorry to be long winded but it made me pretty angry.
