Are you serious? If I could actually be bothered, I'd go and take some photos for you of my cars REAR ADJUSTABLE TRACKING RODS. You're making an incorrect assumption that because you've never seen it, cars with rear adjustable tracking do not exist. You need to stop thinking like that0 -
I have never seen a main dealer that has a proper Hunter alignment setup that can do camber, castor etc.
I was recommended Elite in Rainham by the Vauxhall dealer in Romford when my Omega was wearing the front tyres on the inside.
He said they always use them as the equipment is too specialised
I also used them to do my Subarus.
As mentioned above.
Like night and day.
Even on a new car.
I had mine Scoobs done to Prodrive specs0 -
They have a Hunter system in the garage over the road from me. They reckon around 40% of cars have adjustable rear wheels.
Also, my mechanic still uses the old fashioned manual alignment tool as he can get the alignment to within a tolerance of +/- 1%. Talking to other mechanics the general opinion seems to be "the Hunter is designed for people with no mechanical training to use. It tells them what nut to turn & which direction to turn it in order to get the screen to go green."
Won't stop me having a 4 wheel alignment check if the car starts to wander or pull to one side though (at the moment it goes in a dead straight line even under full throttle acceleration).Never Knowingly Understood.

They may well have stopped thinking like that - you're disagreeing with something posted over 5 years ago!0 -
Background: just bought a 56 plate Citroen C2 which I've now noticed is pulling a little to the left and the steering wheel isn't exactly centred when driving in a straight line.
Looked around today and Nationwide Autocentres will do alignment for £31, but I also found a few places locally that are now using the Hunter system that will do four wheel alignment which they claim is much more reliable than basic tracking (and even give you a computerised printout on a USB stick, woohoo ). They claim it's better because rather than just adjust the front alignment they take camera readings and more measurements than standard tracking and adjust all four wheels plus reset the steering straight and reset it to the manufacturer's (i.e. car-specific) settings. All seems good but is £80.
Has anyone used one of these systems, and is it worth the extra? Is the £30 job just as likely to fix my problem?
p.s. tracking=alignment, right? Could balancing be a contributing factor too?
Its all gimmicks just like forte
you have Citroen c2 before you have tracking done have you checked so see if the front springs are broken???0 -

Drury Lane use the Hunter system. I had an MX5 aligned there a number of years ago. Very professional and good service.0 -

more than likely garage not bothered to pay for subs.
You can do the adjustments freestyle, the flags will green light when the values are equal. oh and they need calibrating as well0
