Can anyone tell me how to reset a veritas burglar alarms. I have had a dozy double glazing fitter who ripped out the front door without taking the alarm sensor off first. The dozy git buried the wire behind the new door.
I have found and replaced the sensors and now cannot reset the system.
Two of the zone lights are on and the system unset light is on and the tamped light is flashing
I have turned of all power and tried to reset but it will not set.The key pad does not respond, just makes a odd sound. The bell box light is flashing all the time which inticates that the system have been tampered with.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

my alarm isn't a veritas but we had the same problem,'tampered with/wouldn't reset' and the only way to solve it was to get the installer out, they entered a special code and reset it:o
but maybe someone with a veritas knows another way0 -
Hi,
Try pressing the code and unset again...
I have this system, and its possible for the installer to set it up so hes needs to be called out to reset it...
The red lights should be off. Close all the doors and stand still to set the alarm, and these should disappear. If they stay red its indicating a faulty sensor.
Regards
Barry

thanks
the thing is that you can no longer enter your code as instead of beeping when you enter your code it keeps buzzing in error when any button is pressed.0 -

Sounds like its gone into tamper mode.
Ideally you need the engineer code to reset it.
That or get someone to do it.....at a cost obviously.
I would pull all the power (panel battery, mains and bell box battery) then try and sort it.
If your lucky the power loss may reset the system if not then unless you have the engineer code your in a fix.0 -
You may need to go inside the panel as it sounds like one of the fuses has blown. Remember ONCE YOU OPEN THE SYSTEM YOU WILL BE WORKING ON 240V. THIS CAN KILL. It would be best to get a local engineer to come and have a look at the system and give it a once over. https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk will give you engineers in your area. The system is their to protect you, your family and posetions, Its best not to try doing this yourself.0

Well personally I wouldn't trust Kilroy to hold my bin bag - let alone install an alarm.0
