Hi a quick post. Has anyone has a small animal (cat)referred to the Liverpool University Vetenery hospital? If so was it uber pricy and more importantly how was it? Was your outcome successful? Any hints, tips and idead very gratefully received. Thanks for reading this.

Hi annie - I havent used the small animal centre but I have (regularly!) used the Equine Hospital for Liverpool University at Leahurst and although pricey they are excellent. Leahurst are my regular vets for everything to do with the horses. The new small animal centre has just been built on the same site so I would personally be more than happy to use them.
Hope your cat is OK x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

All My Pets (past And Present) Have Been Clients At The Small Animal Hospital (liverpool) And I Cannot Reccomend Them Enough. They Are Caring, proffesional And Very Good Value. My Dog Of 12 Years Had To Be Put To Sleep Last Feb, He Was Blind And Diabetic (amongst Other Things) And They Cared For Him So Well And All The Staff Were There To Help Me At Any Time Incase I Needed Any Support. Really Brilliant Vets !0

Hi , my dog Jess is currently under the care of the small animal hospital. She was refered there after 2 ops that my local vet did and wanted her to have an arthroscopy there as Rob ( our vet at liverpool) is more experienced at it.
Over all the experience has been mainly positive, we were refered, within a few days we had a telephone call to make an appointment with us which was then confirmed in writing, this also comes with a list of instrucions re how to get there, insurance, straving pet before going etc. We attened on the given day expecting to have jess admitted but she was only examined (very very throughouly (sp?) for an hour and then the vet decided to admit her 2 days later, performned the arthroscopy and then further surgery.
This is where we were a bit unhappy, we had left mobile phone number as the contact as we wernt going straight home but the vet used the land line to ring following surgery so as this was a friday we didnt actualy speak to him personally as to what he had done til monday afterwards. We collected Jess on the saturday (just one night in) and on picking her up she was saturated with urine (she is incontinent and although we had told them to give her her incontinece medication it hadnt been done.) so on getting her home she had the additional truama of haveing to be showered off as we couldnt leave her (much to much to be going through after joint surgery)
The vet has apologised about the oversight of the medication. We are now under the care of local vet for removal of sutures (and treatment of the wound infection she has subsequently obtained) and are due back at liverpool in 4 week
cost has been much the same as local vet, but have yet to actually get the money off the insurance, though i did ring them before hand to check that they would support my referal
over all a professional service but like anywhere problems do occur, things like all the above and that when we took her back at 8.30 in the morning ( an hour and half drive from us) she wasnt actually booked in until 9.30
sorry for the long rambling post, Pm me if you want to know more
