Dealing with creditors via email??

Hi everyone,
I just wondered if anyone has dealt with their creditors by email as well as using the postal service?
I am struggling to get letters posted, (largely due to the distinct lack of Post Offices nearby...thanks to the government...arghhh!), so I wondered if it is feasible to deal with my creditors by email? They haven't offered, but I wondered if I might try it and see if it's workable. The cost of sending everything by recorded delivery is ridiculous....especially when you are writing to the creditor to give them proof that you did write to them, but received no response.
I appreciate there may be some issues with this sort of thing, so thought to ask you lot!
Many thanks
xx
