Npower fixed pricing

I have been with npower for about 12 months and wanted to get a fixed price for a few years with the higher prices coming up. They were advertising a fixed rate for excisting costermers fixed until 2009, I done a few comparisions and found I could get a fixed price with Scotish power until 2011 on a slightly higher rate so I signed up. Got a phone call from Npower today and asked why I was leaving so I told them and they said they would match it and give me the price plan I am on now fixed until 2011. Anybody else get this?

I am highly sceptical that the guy told you the truth-I know npower have a fixed till 2011 but I think you do have to pay a premium. I would check all the paperwork with a fine tooth comb and call up today to confirm what he told you. Did he say the unit prices are the same or that you would be paying the same direct debit? Him telling you a direct debit amount means nothing as it may have to go up a couple of months down the line.

He may have told you the truth but I would triple check anything n

the npower "fix for free til 2011" is fixed on their standard tariff, which is quite expensive.
I do not think they are able to give individual customers a unique tariff.
You are not the first customer to be misled by npower in this respect, see posts in other threads by "fiddling flower petals"
  • Hi Emmared,

Please get your exact tariff rates confirmed to you in writing, Customer services are not to be trusted.
