Everyday I get a call from these people. If you aren't in they don't leave a message, just some background office noise on the answerphone and then they hang up. If you are in they start with "have you applied for a credit card recently?"

I said it was none of their business and who were they?

They then asked if I had any unsecured debts that were troubling me

I said that it wasn't any of their business, whoever they were, and that I had caller preferencing and as such they shouldn't be calling me

They said that they weren't selling anything so they didn't count

I said that the were obviously going to be offering me a debt service and that this meant their call was clearly for a sale or marketing purpose and as such was covered under the caller preference scheme. I then told them it was a service I did not require and put the phone down.

I have asked them twice not to keep calling me but they only cease for about two weeks then they start again so I have reported them to the Caller Preference lot. I would encourage anyone receiving calls to do the same.

If you are in debt, do not use these people anyway. There are FREE services to help you. I can see that anyone in financial trouble (as I was a few years back) could be conned into talking to them, they are very slick.

My advice - DON'T. There is better advice for free out there, talk to more than one and see which options work for you.

next time they call just scream and shout down the phone and state that they have reached the so and so asylum.

I've them them calling me several times- i'm never in when they do so it ends up clogging my machine. I ended up googling the number to see who it was and just hung the phone up the few times they did get through
