Orange upgrade scandal

I have an Orange mobile phone.
I got this in Feb 2007 and so I should be eligible for an upgrade handset as of May 2008 but I'm not. WHY?
Because I took out their broadband offer. If you take out the broadband offer it automatically resets your mobile phone contract to zero. That's right, the two are completely different services but they link them together.
So, if you have had your phone for more than a few days (maybe a couple of weeks) and think you might want to upgrade it at somepoint make sure you don't accept the broadband offer.
I took out the broadband offer about 3-4 months after I took the phone contract and so I can't now upgrade my phone until end September or cancel the contract until end December. This means I am stuck with a phone that's not actually very well for at least 6 months longer than I thought I would be.
If I want to get out of the contract to change my phone I have to give up my broadband, and pay over £270 for my early ending of contract on the phone!
Its' a RIP OFF.
I was going to stay with Orange (who, by the way, get over £50 a month out of me) and just upgrade my phone but now, as soon as I get to November they will get my notice on both accounts and I'm switching.
It's their loss!
