Giving funds for Ethiopian appeal

Hi;
Don't know if anyone on here can help; My beloved other half has asked me to make a donation to starving kids in Ethiopia.
Trouble is, when I look at Medecins sans Frontieres, Oxfam and others, all I can do is a generic donation. And Mrs. T is extremely keen on not donating monies to some of these organisations "slightly-less-heart-rending" causes.
Has anyone come across a direct appeal? Or know of a way of making sure that something goes to starving Ethiopians?

To be fair to them they ask for generic donations because of the fact they are not sure where the money is gooing to be needed.0

I know - I even agree, to an extent; but I wasn't (JUST an example, okay?) particularly impressed by the large donations made to the 9/11 appeals from major relief charities when the world's poorest nations were starving.....
JUST an example, as I said :-(

Some of those agencies like the Red Cross also work in developed countries so it's only natural for them to support people there.
Also there could be a lot more reasons that you are not aware of. As in the United States many organisations run soup kitchens in places like New York and will continue to do so.0
