Hi
Im thinking of buying my DH a Sat Nav as a birthday prezzie! He's a Coach Driver so one with European maps would be best suited for him.
Can anyone give me any advice on this because ive no idea what Im looking for!
Thanks

TomTom and Garmin are probably the best brands available. Halfords have some OK deals on at the moment, too.
What sort of budget did you have in mind?0 -
You can get a very cheap one from somewhere like ebuyer.com for around £50. Reports are that its ok too, I believe you can put the tomtom software on them too. Otherwise I'd agree with the post above.0

I prefer Garmin, Garmin, and er Garmin then why buy Tom Tom when there's Garmin.
Garmin are in boat's and aeroplanes and I don't think planes have a Tom Tom, not the one's I would go in.

Hi all,
Have a look at this link
http://www.find-tomtom-deals.co.uk/
and click on the Tom Tom EU tab at the top
If you dont want a Tom Tom then have a look on Ebuyer for other sat nav stuff

Hi
Thanks for all your replies!
A couple of drivers at his place have suggested a TomTom 720 as this one as got European maps on it! Also where is the cheapest place to buy one from?
I have about £200 to spend!
Cheers

Well if you just want a baisc one with European mapping you can't beat this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-Satellite-Navigation-European-Mapping/dp/B000OV16MQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1213269080&sr=8-1
I've got one and it's very good. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Halfords do the tomtom 720 for £229 although....there have been a few reports about dodgy windscreen mounts/power connections

fair bit of reading & reviews for both tomtom and garmin here
