Self employment, tax credits and illness...

Many thanks every one, yes he was investigated by the compliance officer. I think there is a problem with the self employed as in most cases the turn over cannot be consistent. A Web designer can produce Templates to show clients (should they call). Now the effort is in designing the templates but in the absence of clients what do you do?
Therapists are another group, who may or may not have adequate turnover. It is possible to cook the books but can honesty pay??
