N95 route66 icon dissapear when I connect USB

I instal ROUTE66 on N95, all works fine, but everytime, as soon as I plug in my USB connector, and then disconnect it, the ROUTE66 icon dissapears and I am then no longer able to run ROUTE66.
Now everytime I have to re-install route66 to get the icon back. When I go to re-install, it does state .."do you want to overwrite existing version..." which I say yes to.
I tried installing to phone instead of memory card, but then ROUTE66 no longer works, I am guessing its because the maps and config files/dirs are on the memory card, and if install on phone will prob look for phone location, but this will use unnessary space.
I am trying to figure out which file it dissapearing and maybe take a copy and store it on the phone memory, but point it to the memory card for launching.
I hope some of the about makes sense to someone techi, thanks in advance.

I don't think that I can help so much but it's strange that it doesn't appear when you remove the USB. I have a similar situation with Garmin XT, it doesn't work with the USB and in data mode because the phone treats the card as mass storage rather than as part of the system. As soon as I unplug my USB it works OK again.0

The N95 can store applications on the Phone or memory card.
If you plug it in to the USB and set it to "Data Mode" it locks the phone out of the Memory card so any applications stored there will not be available.
Try turning the phone off and on and see if the Icon pops back up.
Have you tried saying "No" to the overwrite? if yes then what happened?Laters

No, I still get the problem after disconnecting from USB and rebooting the phone.
I even tried setting up shorcuts to start(standby) icons, but they also disappear after I connect usb, then disconnect from USB, even after restart/reboot
Its real frustrating, as other apps I have installed on memory card are ok.
Does anyone know were the actual icon, shortcut is held, and could I make a copy of it and store it elsewhere and run it using file explorer instead, I can't seem to find any other way of doing this.
The application does appear to be still installed, just no way of running it without an valid icon.
When I had a Windows Mobile phone, I could still run the app, if I found the file in explorer type file browser, but can't seem to find a way with symbian os.
Thanks for all the help so far0 -
If it is a legit version contact the vendor..
If not why not just get TomTom, this can now work off the internal GPS
I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -

I don't think anyone has been able to do this, get TOMTOM working on internal GPS on N95, but if you know a way then I would be very grateful to hear it.0 -
Loads of people have Tomtom running on an N95 using the Internal GPS.
I will dig out some instructions but the files, you will have to locate yourself (google is great)
I will quote trail of comments which also includes some issues people had getting it working.1) bt.sisx. Run it. It should say "Device added".
At this point you can also uninstall it - it is no longer needed.
2) Install 2.GPSd.jar. Run this prior to starting TomTom.
3) Install 3.tomtom.sisx.
4) Copy the TomTom folder from the 0.Copy.To.MEMCARD.Root.rar
to the root of your memory card.
5) Run TomTom. Choose Yes when it asks you to switch on
bluetooth. Go to Change preferences, Show GPS status,
Configure, Other Bluetooth GPS receiver, and select the
BiNPDA GPS.
* You need to change the preferences every time you start tomtom. It won't
remember that you were using the internal GPS.
* If you need to switch from internal, to an "external" receiver, you may need
to click on "tomtom receiver", and then "other receiver" to
get the list of devices again.

Working OK here, make sure after installing everything you run the bt program (found in applications) this will then give you the message that another device has been added, then before you start tomtom run the "GPSD" program, keep this running in the background while tomtom is running. Set tomtom to use other bluetooth receiver then you will get the option to use "BinPDA GPS" Select this option and all should be OK, and working fine.
I get a certificate error on N958GB when trying to install. Any ideas?
Goto into "Applications", then open "App Manager" then "Options" Then "settings" and change "software Installation" to "All". It should then install with no problems.0 -

Theres nothing wrong with this.
You can buy TomTom for use with Nokia Phones but it will default to only work with an External GPS antenna.
Making use of the Internal GPS is the goal. Nokia may make the phone but can they REALLY tell you how you are going to use it and prevent you from making best use of it???
when you buy a PC you don't HAVE to use Windows!!0 -
Ok, brilliant I have just got it all up and running using the internal GPS and its work fine, thanks!0
