Hi
Well this is what i have.
1 pc with 500gb usb ext h/d lan wired to netgear router. 1 IBM laptop wireless. 1 Hi grade wireless. 1 xbox with XBMC lan wired to router.
What i want to do is set up a network so the 2 laptops and the xbox can see the pc with the ext h/d.
What i can do so far is see both the laptops and on each other when i go network places. In mshome groups i can see both laptops.
So the laptops are networked.
On the pc when i go to mshome all i can see is "pc" and not IBM and Hi grade.
So the pc is not on the same network as the laptops.
If i connect the ext h/d to ibm, i can then see the ext h/d through the xbox. so the is networked ok.
I can get the net on both laptops and i can get utube tv through the xbox.
They are all in the same work group "mshome"
All running xp.
So what i need help with is getting the pc onto the same network as the laptops and the xbox.
Cheers

HI I am presuming that really what you want to be able to do is have the xbox see the external HD? and/or the other lappies to see it too?
Can you confirm if all machines are running the same version of Xp, i.e all xp home, or xp pro? Also can you check if file and printer sharing is enabled on the PC and through windows firewall - check this by control panel>windows firewall>exceptions tab> file and printer sharing. Also, for the lappies to view the external HD on the PC you would have to set this up as a share. However, check the other the settings first and let me know how you get on.
Another way to share files to your xbox from your other machine/s is to install TVersity. This is installed on a machine where your media resides, you then browse the PC from your xbox. HTH0
