Has anyone ever had a tennis court built

Options
Roughly what would be the cost?

Obviously I know it varies depending on the exact work to be done, but I have no idea what a ball park figure would be

I can't help you with a current price I'm afraid. I went through a similar exercise some years ago, but it was for 3 tennis courts........for a sports & social club.

The advice I would offer is:

    1) Get as many quotations as possible, as a minimum you should obtain three.

    2) Try to view examples of their work and speak to the owners of the courts to get their feedback.

    3) Try to view a private (home) court and a public (sports club) court, to see how wear and tear affects the surface.

    4) Follow their advice on maintenance, particularly keeping moss and weeds off the surface.

    5) I know you want a tennis court, but consider markings for other sports (like 5-a-side football) when they put the markings down. Ask for white or yellow lines for tennis and a different colour for the other sport(s).

I hope that helps, good luck.

  • I am at the early thoughts stage but before asking for quotes I need to talk the wife into it, and that will require a ball park

I know it will be thousands, but how many, 6, 10, 15 ,20?

    I really have no idea

I doubt you will get many price suggestions from MSE members so why not contact a supplier for a quotation instead? From my experience, the best quality supplier (but far too expensive for me) is En-Tout-Cas and their web site is www.en-tout-cas.co.uk

Follow that up with another (cheaper) supplier to get an idea of prices.;)
