I applied for a post office credit card a month ago and was turned down.
I do not need the card, but I’d like it so I can do a soft balance transfer to lower the interest I am paying on a career development loan.
My money situation is not bad, probably what you’d expect for someone that in a graduate job (ok money, still trying to get things 100% on track after moving out of my parents house). I have never gone over my overdraft, I have had the odd credit card/store card to take advantage of offers before I quickly cleared and cancelled them…. to be honest I’m a bit lost as to why I was turned down when I know a lot of people that are terrible with money yet get offered cards/ loans etc all of the time.
A few months ago I got a credit card out and didn’t use it at all. I cancelled the card today and wandered if it is worth me applying for this soft balance transfer card again?
I've just applied to Experian for a credit check, but thought i'd as you guys for your advice as you've been really good in the past.
thanks
Ian

What I've learnt from my time on these boards is that in general, 2-3 applications in 6 months is acceptable.
However if you are thinking of applying for a card that you've already been turned down for, then you really should wait 6 months since your last application. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0
