Just installed new antivirus on my new laptop (less than a month old) and among the usual cookies and adware it found this Keylogger
http://www.pctools.com/mrc/infections/id/Application.Perfect_Keylogger/
I don't down load anything or visit dodgy sites. Literally use it for email, msn and mse mainly ie legitimate websites. Any idea where it could've come from and why the hell it was on my new laptop?
Thanks.

What antivirus? Could be a false positive. If it's genuine then could have come from anywhere, anything from someone physically putting it on through to email attachment or legitimate sites being infected etc etc."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

It should say where it supposedly found the keylogger, i.e. the file or directory."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

It could be a false positive, most anti virus programs compare files to a signature database, it might be that a file on your system has a similar structure to a known virus in the signature database. Have a look at the following website and see if you have any of the files mentioned on your system:

Would it still find them even if it is quarantined?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

It shouldn't, the AV program will remove the virus and place it in a restricted location (quarantine) for your action (release, delete etc..)
If you're feeling adventurous you could release the file/s and try another AV scan such as a free online scanner and see if that AV has the same results
