:j Hello everyone! Thought this may be of use. I got sent a flyer today through the post regarding Extra Direct (here is the link to the website) http://www.extradirect.com/Default.aspx Its looks like a prepaid card with banking facilities. Might be useful for any of you struggling to get an account with debit card etc. Flyer states No Credit Checks :j

(interesting though its natwest..one of the many bankrupt unfreindly banks)We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
Quite expensive to open as well !
How much does Extra Direct cost?
For just £12.50 per month you get a fully managed bank account that allows you to manage your finances easily and hassle free. You’ll get your own online account management centre and access to our account management team who are just a phone call away to answer any queries you may have. You also get the added convenience of a Prepaid MasterCard card, so you can use it to shop or withdraw money at home or abroad.
With Extra Direct there's no risk of incurring charges or going overdrawn accidentally. If there are insufficient funds in your Billing Account to cover a standing order that you have set up, we will notify you by text 7 working days in advance. If there is still insufficient funds to pay the bill 2 working days before it is due to be paid, we will text you again and notify you that we have stopped the payment. That text message will cost you £1, and £0.50 of that will be given to charity. There is also a one off account opening charge of £49.95 (£54.95 for a joint account) which will be taken from your first deposit into the account.:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
Hmmm another bank launched something like this 8 or nine months ago, think it was RBS.
Wasnt impressed then either, its just a money making racket as far as i can see
But thanks for the thought brimau:DThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….0 -

I have to agree; WHAT A RACKET! These guys think that it is some kind of privilege for us to bank with them. No interest on deposits either.
They also have the 'cajones' to say that signing up will mean an end to bank charges. . .
Unbelievable.

I don't disagree and actually have a prepay card myself.. I was just pointing out in that post you've quoted that having to pay £49.95 just to get one was too expensive in my eyes
There are some good deals out there and they are very handy for some people.:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
I got the Extra Direct information sheet included in the junk received from the 'Bankruptcy Fund Limited' just after I had got bankrupt.
£50 set up and £12.50 a month? Just for the 'privilege' of a bank account?
No Thanks0
