OH's ex used to film him from the bathroom window when he came to pick up his son. Then she decided that he wasn't allowed to come to the door, so DS had to go down the road and meet us in the pub car park. Sadly she was encouraged in her extreme-ness by the courts who thought it entirely acceptable to behave in this manner.

She's moved away with DS and not left a forwarding address now. We haven't seen DS for 4 years.

That's terrible. I despair of people sometimes. There are some people so wrapped up un their own world that they never lift their heads to see how they impact others. Your OH must be devastated and the little boy completely bewildered at apparently being abandoned by a parent. Its a difficult situation. My heart goes out to all three of you.

    Morning all.
I am new to this, hope you dont mind me joining your chat. Toto and OliveOyl I share in the problem ex-experience. My OH has 3 children whom he had not seen for months (coincidentally contact stopped when he started paying contributions straight to the CSA rather than paying directly for clothes/shoes other things the ex needed money for) but now she has granted him access once a week so thinks are looking up for us, I could go into our previous wakko experiences with her, but it more but I dont want to jinx the situation.

But as for the money saving, at the begining of the month I find myself really motivated, but now we are 15 days into my financial month I am struggling to stick to it. How do you guys keep on through the whole month? Can you offer any advice?

The thought of coming on here and 'fessing up to being 'naughty' keeps me right most days. I did try just setting my targets but without the interaction with others I kept falling off the spending wagon.

I also signed up for the grocery challenge and reporting on there and updating signature helps stick to that target too. It also really helps that this time OH has bought into it as we have hopes of emigrating:p

    Lozza, very welcome to you.

[strike]My [/strike] our debt is almost entirely down to a failed court action that lasted 3 years and resulted in the police dragging DS from his bed in our house at midnight to return him to his mad ma. She lied and deceived all and sundry and we had, in the end, for DS's sake, to step back and live without him. I could fill a book with the pain of it all. And it breaks my heart to see the two boys who have been separated for 8 years, (his bro is with us) and my OH deal with it. I put a lot of the blame on the family courts too.

And I'll get off this subject now, because I'm a bitter old woman if I dwell on it :o

    Thanks Luc73,

Its funny you say that, I have only just got the OH involved (or so I thought).
I have tried in the past and we have made so many resolutions together, but I am determined to do it right this time. As I say I thought I had OH in tow this time but half an hour ago I got a txt from him asking if he could put new curtains on the CC.

I'm more shocked that you have a OH who notices curtains never mind thinks to buy new ones :rotfl:

He probably thinks it doesn't count because its 'essential':rotfl: . My OH is on board but still requires educated as to what MSE means. It makes me realise how much I've learned when I explain things to him and I feel quite proud of myself. (He's also loving the baking I'm doing so I think that helps:p .)
