trace route , request timed out ?

i have just ran a few trace routes to my isps, website, keep getting request timed out, could there be a problem on theiir network or my end , many thanks

    This may not be a problem.... Some isps do not allow their routers to respond to 'pings', so you will get request timed out

    Surely it would be more helpful to try this for the OP, rather than speculating. Works fine for me.

    On the Madasafish form at thinkbroadband.com , the test is working for them , so i don't think they are blocking it

    thinkbroadband use a different ISP than yourself, so the first lot of 'hops' will go via different routers. Some ISP block pings to prevent abuse.

    It could also be your router filtering out the information, do you use a Linksys ADSL/Cable/Wireless router?

    tracert is a fault finding tool for use when there is a problem, might be best to state what you're original problem (that required using tracert for) actually is!
