Estimated bills after price rise
We use Ebico/Southern Electric for gas and electric. Quarterly DD. Last bill coves period 19 Feb to 19 May and we have just received it. The reading is an estimate (which I can correct) and they have then charged pro rata at the old rate for the period 19 Feb to 31 Mar and the new rate 1 Apr to 19 May. Of course the earlier part of the year was colder and we had the central heating on. It's been off since late Mar. So I feel we should be getting more of those units at the old rate. Is this normal practice? Should I pursue it with them? If I had realised this was going to happen I would have taken readings on 1 Apr (except we didnt even get the notification of the price rises till after that).

Yep it seems to be; I had the same issue with British Gas. Unless you can prove your reading was 'x' on the day not much can be done as far as I can tell0
