you may have a memory issue - or Direct X problem. Make sure your hard drive is defragged and clear out all the old files with system cleanup.
Not sure what spec PC you are running - but if you have a lot of programs running in the background it may affect performance.

It does it occasionally. Unfortunately I can't defrag on this comp as it's, to put it bluntly, b*ggered. We removed a trojan and something in system32 got screwed up and now it won't run McAfee, WMP, Disc Cleanup, Disc Defrag...

Well if its been compromised then a clean install is over due I'm afraid. Do you do home banking on it?0
