Bed for a Toddler

Can anyone recommend a bed for a male toddler who moves around their cot a lot ?
DS is just about climbing out his cot and gets really excited to go into either our bed or his sisters and making a big fuss about getting the sheets tucked in.
I don't really want to spend a lot but obviously want to know he's safe and won't fall out as well !
Any ideas ?

my dd has this one in pink but it does not come with a mattress, it did when we bought it.0 -
Is it pretty sturdy ? DD's favourite thing at the moment is to run up and down his sister's bed. I wasn't sure if it looked solid enough !So little money - so much time :mad:0

Our daughter is now in the bed part of her cot bed, but she has slept in a single and a double bed since moving out of her cot.
Just becuase they move around a lot in cot, doesn't mean they will do the same in a bed. Daughter has fallen out only once and I've watched her wiggle about and she does know where the edges are as even when asleep she moves herself back into bed.
Prepare for a couple of weeks of disrupted sleep, but get a routine and they soon settle down. The Supernanny 'return straight to bed' technique worked wonders for us.0 -
Yes it is sturdy, both dd's bounce on it much to my delight. I have even slept on it when dd1 was ill and slept next to her dad so he could keep an eye on her lol0

We just put a mattress on the floor when my son moved from cot to bed. It meant I didn't have to worry about him falling off

Our DDs used the extendable bed that you can get from IKEA - not very high off the ground either, and grows with the child. Served us well.0

when my son was 2.5, he'd outgrown the cot by miles and the bed part was no good. We got complaints from the neighbours about the noise generated when he was dragging the bed part around his room in the morning. Little monkey.
We went out and had to buy a single bed in the end with a full size sprung mattress. To stop him falling out of bed, we bought a netting side from argos Then we bought a bed tent, designed to keep kids in bed. Both were great and he never fell out. He is 3 now and sleeps in it fine. Toddler beds are ridiculous money for something they won't use for that long. We paid £59 for a wooden bed and £50 for a decent mattress, which will hopefully lst for years to come. x0 -
We ended up giving our DD the bed from the psare room which is 4ft wide and can accommodate her restless sleeping better than her extending bed from IKEA did.
She still hits the wall with her arms/legs in her sleep, but not as often as she used to, and it doesn't seem to wake her up as much.:DMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I got my dd the extendable bed from Ikea and i have to say it is great very sturdy and not too high (i just popped her cot mattress on the floor by her bed just incase) and it will grow with her. I would definitely reccomend it x
