Need new C Card for Travel - Cancel my old one prior to applying?

Hi guys

I have a Capital One card with a £7K limit on it and currently a £0 balance although I have used it quite a bit over the 9 months I have had it.

I need a Post Office Platinum and/or a Nationwide Gold card as I am soon to get married and will be in the states for over 3 weeks and want to pay by Plastic with the 3 month 0% on purchase and 0% on foreign purchases these cards offer. I want a limit similar to the Capital One card - so my question is; do you think I am more attractive to a prospective Credit Card company if I have a card already, or should I close my Capital One card account down prior to application?

I have a permanent full time job and earn above the criteria required for each of the cards.

Thank!

Keep the card. In your case a 7k limit with Cap1 will stand you in good stead to get high limit on another card

Cheers Bethany - I laughed at your reply RE the gambling wife - Your solution would have worked a treat!! feel free to PM me any other sure things!

I am holding the £7k - good insurance. Thanks.

I hunt out the value bets not the big prices. Most of the time I like to call them the nearly sure things because as you know sure things are really an illusion. I have something available most days and if you promise to bet responsibly and have a little betting bank (so you don't go broke on first loser) I would be happy to PM you.

Wouldn't want your OH to leave you would I? :rotfl:
