Unsolicited message for loan that isn't mine- what should I do?

Hi all
I'm a money saving newbie so I hope I've posted in the right area.
I've been getting a few phone calls and now a text message regarding approval for a loan which is for another person (I've got their name). I googled them and they've got a different address etc. I assume they are attempting to use my number either on purpose or as a mistake (could be a similar number). My mobile's not on contract.
Should I take any further action and what should it be? I really don't want to call the loans company back (they're called ADV loans) as they sound a bit dodgy. I've told all callers that they have the wrong number. I don't want my credit record affected!
thanks

It may be worth just spending £2 and getting an up to date copy of your credit record and see if there are any searches against your name that you are unaware of - it's worth it for peace of mind0

Thanks Standupguy, I'll do that tomorrow.0

I second that! Get a copy ASAP. If you have any more calls tell them that you have never heard of this person & they should contact them in writing to confirm the details.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0

If it's not a contract phone then I doubt they have added anything to your record... But everyone should check their credit files regularly as good financial housekeeping
