In Car DVD Installation

I am looking to have a DVD / Multimedia system installed into my car.
I know that I DO NOT want a 'attach to a headrest' type system and that a roof mounted system or mounted into the headrest system will cost me (a lot) more - but this is going to be a real indulgence for me and I am not to bothered by the extra cost (not very money saving, but this is the windfall money from my whisky bottle saving).
My question is twofold - does anyone have any experience of in car multimedia and if so which has worked out best ? roof or headrest mounted ?
and secondly - can you recommend a good installer ?
all help/advice gratefully rec'd
