Washing Machine Door

I had to unscrew my washing machine door (indesit) in order to replace a broken handle, which I have done.
The problem is that the back of the door hinge will not screw back onto the machine as before, the screws keep turning. When I took the door off I heard a dropping metal sound, but I cannot see anything. I have a nasty feeling that there was some sort of metal nut which has now fallen into the machine.
Is my machine now ruined ? If not, how can I get the door back on ?
All replies gratefully received.

remove the spring loaded door seal retainer (you will see it by the hinge or at bottom of door seal)
And with power off, detach door seal from front off appliance put your hand inside the machine and you will find small metal plate to go with your screw.

I can see the spring loaded door seal retainer. How do I remove it without breaking it, and being able to put it back ?0

remove with a small screwdriver and you will need to stretch it to put it back OR! pull your machine out tip it back and see if its fallen underneath or just inside the chasisThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
